Film Grain Presets · Composite · Opacity
Film Grain Presets selects the starting character of the procedural grain: 8mm, 16mm and 35mm families with stock/speed variants. It is not a LUT or colour transform — the preset seeds the grain generator. Composite Type defines how the grain layer is mathematically combined with the image, while Opacity controls the overall contribution of that layer.
- 8mm generally starts coarser/more obvious; 35mm starts finer and calmer
- A preset is a starting point, not a historically exact emulation of one stock
- Opacity works best as the final trim after the structure is tuned
