Overview

What CleanEdges does

Repairs thin empty borders and damaged frame edges by extending nearby pixels into the missing region.

Pixels controls how wide a damaged or empty border CleanEdges is allowed to repair, while Lock determines how the horizontal and vertical sides are linked. Keep the repair width only as large as the actual edge defect.

Type changes the fill character: Duplicate extends neighboring image information and is usually the more natural choice, while Solid is useful when a deliberately hard technical fill is required.

Mental model

Treat the frame boundary as a small hole: CleanEdges borrows nearby image pixels and pushes them outward to cover the exposed edge.
