OCIOColorSpace

Spaces, configuration and transform order

OCIOColorSpace transforms image values from Source Space to Output Space through the selected OCIO configuration. The configuration defines names, transforms and looks; the same label in another configuration does not guarantee the same result.

Overview

What OCIOColorSpace does

OCIOColorSpace transforms image values from Source Space to Output Space through the selected OCIO configuration. The configuration defines names, transforms and looks; the same label in another configuration does not guarantee the same result.

In Forward, Source Space describes data at this graph location, not the camera format before all processing. Account for MediaIn, Resolve color management and earlier nodes. Reverse inverts the original pair: its Output becomes the actual input. Assigning a space and converting values are different operations.

The supplied menu contains linear, sRGB, sRGBf, rec709, Gamma1.8/Gamma2.2, several log formats and raw. These are retained as an explanation of this capture, not a substitute for a documented current camera or ACES configuration.

In Flow the node changes data sent downstream. An OCIO View LUT operates at viewing time; account for it separately to avoid a duplicate conversion. Effect Mask exists, but mixing different encodings through a mask is generally not a valid technical space conversion.

When to use it

  • Convert a plate into an agreed working space.

  • Prepare output for the next stage’s color space.

  • Review configuration, look and translucent-edge handling.
