Gamut is Fusion's broad color-space conversion utility for moving imagery between known camera, working and display spaces when you need an explicit transform in the node graph.

Mental model

Define where the image color values currently live, define where they need to live next, and let the node perform the coordinate conversion between those color spaces.

Color Gamut Diagram

Chooses or displays the color gamut used for the conversion.

Source Space

Declares the input gamut.

Choose the actual source encoding; a wrong declaration produces a mathematically valid but visually wrong transform.

Source Space: No Change

Uses No Change as the source space.

Remove Gamma

Linearizes or removes the source transfer function when required.

Use only as part of a deliberate source-to-output conversion.

Output Space

Selects the target gamut.

Match the next stage of the pipeline, not merely the current monitor.

Output Space: No Change

Sets Output Space to No Change.

Add Gamma

Applies the requested output transfer function.

This is typically paired with the target output space.

Use White Point Adaptation

Adapts between differing white points.

Useful when source and target standards use different chromatic reference whites.

Pre-Divide / Post-Multiply

Protects premultiplied alpha during color conversion.

Important for keyed or graphic elements with soft alpha edges.
