Soft Clipper is a dedicated Fairlight FX processor in Resolve 21's Dynamics category. Its role is to shape signal peaks with a controlled transition into non-linear processing rather than abrupt hard digital clipping.

Choose the processor because the problem matches it
Soft clipping is useful for peak shaping and sound design: it can round sharp transients or add density before the next stage. It is not the same job as transparent limiting, so the result should be judged by ear and with meters.
