Text+

Text+ makes lettering an image branch that can pass through Transform, Glow, Displace and other tools before being composited with Merge. It is useful for titles, captions and motion graphics, but does not itself transcribe speech or automatically create an SRT subtitle file.

Keep the control scopes separate. Text handles content and typography; Layout positions the block; Transform operates on characters, words or lines; Shading controls styling elements. Size, Offset and Rotation can mean different things in these different tabs.

Shading separates fill, outline, shadow and decorative elements. Select an element before changing its properties. Offsetting a shadow, moving the whole block and staggering characters are three different operations, not interchangeable uses of a control named Offset.

A separate Transform after Text+ is often convenient for moving a finished title. Character-level animation belongs to text properties and modifiers: Write On reveals a text range, while Follower staggers an animation already defined by keyframes. Moving every kind of animation out of Text+ would be an incorrect rule.

Text+ outputs a flat image with alpha. You can use that image in a larger composition, but actual text geometry needs a different tool. Internal depth and X/Y rotations do not change the output into a 3D scene.
