sChangeStyle
A unified style for a shape or compound branch
Assigns uniform color, transparency and Allow Combining to an input shape branch while retaining its geometry.
sChangeStyle
Overview
What sChangeStyle does
sChangeStyle is useful when geometry is already assembled and its color and transparency should be controlled in one place. One input receives a single or compound shape; the output remains shape data.
The node replaces upstream style rather than multiplying an arbitrary raster channel. Changing a source sEllipse color can become invisible after sChangeStyle because a new color is assigned downstream.
Placement sets the scope. After a compound shape operation, the new style applies to its whole result. For several independent colors, style individual branches before their final combination and account for the next node’s rules.
Allow Combining is overridden as well. To check overlaps, place sChangeStyle before sDuplicate, use partial alpha and keep Opacity at 1. Compare interior regions at sRender rather than a final opaque background.
All parameters from the original PNG are retained: Color, separate RGBA components, Opacity and Allow Combining. Lessons use built-in tools but do not represent an executed native render or a supplied .comp.
When to use it
A shared brand color for a compound symbol.
Late color changes without editing source shapes.
Uniform transparency for several shape elements.
Setting overlap behavior before shape replication.
Separating geometry from style variants.
