Accumulates previous frames and transforms or fades each contribution to create controlled motion trails and temporal echoes.
Trails
Overview
What Trails does
The node is useful when one moving object should leave repeated impressions behind it. Each historical sample contributes to the current output, so small transform changes compound into a visible trail.
Gain controls how quickly old samples fade. Offset, rotation, scale and blur let the history expand, drift or soften as it ages.
Because Trails depends on frame history, preroll and restart behavior matter when rendering from the middle of a composition or after changing parameters.
When to use it
Motion echoes behind titles or objects
Light streaks and ghost trails
Stylized dance or sports motion
Repeated graphic copies over time
Temporal feedback-like transitions
