How to install Krokodove in DaVinci Resolve and Fusion

Resolve 21 changed the answer. Older tutorials still describe the external Krokodove plug-in, while Blackmagic now integrates a substantial Krokodove set directly into Fusion and Edit Effects in Resolve 21. Installation therefore starts with separating the Resolve 21 integration from legacy Krokodove v8.30.

Short answer

If you run DaVinci Resolve 21, Krokodove is already installed

You do not need a separate ZIP, Reactor package or manually copied legacy plugin for the integrated set. Blackmagic integrated the Krokodove toolset into Fusion and Edit Effects in Resolve 21. If the tools are missing, check the version and current Fusion toolset before hunting for an old installer.

Version
Status
What to do
DaVinci Resolve 21
Integrated
Blackmagic lists Krokodove as a Fusion feature in Resolve 21 with no separate installation. The main Resolve 21 product page does not label it Studio-only.
DaVinci Resolve Studio 21
Integrated
Studio 21 also includes the integrated set; it does not require a separate legacy Krokodove plug-in file.
Fusion Studio 21
Integrated
Krokodove is integrated into the current Fusion Studio 21 release.
Resolve/Fusion 18.5–19 · Windows
Legacy 8.30
The original Krokodove developer lists Windows as supported for this branch.
Resolve/Fusion 17–18 · Windows/macOS
Legacy 8.30
The developer package provides separate Windows and macOS builds.
Resolve/Fusion 20
Not in 8.30 matrix
Krokodove v8.30 does not list version 20 on the developer page. For a current workflow, moving to Resolve 21 is the cleaner path.

DaVinci Resolve 21

Verify the integrated toolset in four steps

1

Confirm Resolve 21

The final DaVinci Resolve 21 release lists Krokodove support among the Fusion additions in the regular Resolve 21 feature set. Older hosts use a different installation model.

2

Update to the final 21 release

Early beta behavior and legacy third-party packages are not a clean baseline. Use the current final Resolve 21 release for a new setup.

3

Search a documented tool

In Fusion, search for Fragments, Pattern, Seamless Loop, Channel Shifter or Mapped Duplicate 3D — all are named in Blackmagic's Krokodove list.

4

Remove legacy duplication

If you previously installed Krokodove separately, do not keep that legacy copy layered over the integrated Resolve 21 toolset.

How the separate Krokodove v8.30 plugin is installed

The original Komkom Doorn page describes the classic v8.30 workflow: download the package, choose the plugin file that matches the exact Fusion/Resolve generation and operating system, copy it into the appropriate Fusion Plugin folder, then restart the host. The developer also notes that third-party plugins require Studio editions.

1. Match the host version

Do not treat a nearby binary as interchangeable. The archive contains builds for different Fusion/Resolve generations and host APIs.

2. Copy the plugin, not a template

The developer describes installation into the proper Plugin folder. This is distinct from installing a Fuse or an Edit/Fusion template.

3. Restart the host

The application must rescan binary plugins. If the tools do not appear, version/OS mismatch is the first thing to check.

Resolve 20: it is not listed in the Krokodove v8.30 support matrix on the developer page. This guide therefore does not present a Resolve 19 binary in Resolve 20 as a guaranteed method. In 2026, Resolve 21 is the cleaner current path.

Why Krokodove may be missing

Your host is older than 21

Legacy Krokodove and integrated Krokodove use different installation models. Resolve/Fusion 19 and earlier need a compatible legacy build.

A legacy copy survived the upgrade

Do not mix old manually installed/Reactor-era files with Resolve 21's integrated copy. Test a clean Resolve 21 environment.

You are searching the wrong name

Try several tools explicitly listed by Blackmagic: Fragments, Rasterize, Seamless Loop, Pattern and Mapped Duplicate 3D.

Version status and documentation

The version matrix and documented-tool list in this cluster are grounded in Blackmagic Design's Resolve 21 documentation and the original Krokodove developer page. We distinguish Blackmagic's over-70-graphics product wording, its more-than-100 effects-and-tools guide wording, and the 61 tools explicitly named in the brief guide table. The legacy external plug-in is kept separate from the Resolve 21 integration.
