What the list covers
A traceable index of the base guide
The 61 entries and 10 groups follow the brief Krokodove table in the April 2026 Resolve 21 New Features Guide. The count includes regular tools, three parameter modifiers and four text modifiers. It is therefore not the number of image nodes that can be placed before Merge.
A linked name opens an individual article covering inputs, outputs, settings and practice. An unlinked entry remains part of the official list, but does not yet have a suitable detailed article. A missing link does not mean that the tool is absent from the application.
Search and selection
Search for an English name or a specific operation
If you know a name from a tutorial, use its English form: Pattern, Fragments, Seamless Loop or Mapped Duplicate 3D. If you only know the desired result, start with an action: create a pattern, reveal an image, rearrange pixels, warp a layer or change a parameter value.
| Desired result | Group and starting candidates | Check before connecting |
|---|---|---|
| A new background or geometric pattern | Image Create Tools: Pattern, Lines, Shapes, Blobs | The node generates an image; establish its canvas, color and transparency |
| A reveal, breakup or print texture | Image Tools: Fragments, Grow, Rasterize | An input image is required; select Alpha or a luminance channel for the task |
| A loop, RGB split or pixel sorting | Image Pixel Tools: Seamless Loop, Channel Shifter, Sort | Distinguish time processing from pixel processing; keep the source branch |
| A directed warp | Image Warp Tools: Bend, Offset, Relative Transform, Segment Transform | Check whether another image input is needed and what the map controls |
| Color replacement or a selected range | Image Color Tools: Recolor, Replace Color, Threshold | Decide whether you need a color result or a channel for a separate matte |
| An array of objects in space | 3D: Mapped Duplicate 3D | The main input takes a 3D scene and the map is a separate image; a renderer is required downstream |
| Rhythm, randomness or text | Modifiers / Text Modifiers: Beat, Random, From File, Write | Choose a compatible parameter or Styled Text; this is not an image branch |
| An outline or motion-data diagnostic | Image Position / Image Vector: Contour, Vector Visualisation | Vector visualization requires the corresponding motion data, not just ordinary RGB |
Before the first test
Name, inputs, channel and range explain much of the behavior
In a detailed article, read the purpose and inputs first, then choose one practical example. A parameter reference becomes more useful once the source data and expected result are clear.
Identify the family and version
Check the full name, group and introduction version. Krokodove Extrude creates a 2D illusion of depth, while Extrude3D outputs geometry; Rasterize processes an image, while sRender turns Shape data into pixels.
Separate the input roles
The main source, External or Map, and Effect Mask serve different purposes. In Rasterize, connect a custom stamp to External and an area restriction to Effect Mask; they are not interchangeable.
Start with obvious source data
Use a transparent title for Alpha, a contrasty image or gradient for Luminance, and clearly distinct light and dark areas for a map. Change one control and view the output immediately after the tool.
Check the result over time
For range reveals, randomness, loops and time maps, inspect consecutive frames. Then check transparency, edges and the image at delivery resolution.
