Global In/Out
Sets the frame range over which the node is active.
Procedural line-set generator
Generates one or more line sets with animated start/end states, spacing, thickness, dashes, softness, color and overlap controls.
Lines is a procedural line-graphics generator for HUD elements, scan lines, technical overlays, animated strokes and repeated design accents.
Overview
First and Last define two independent line states. Fusion can interpolate between them over time, making Lines especially useful for controlled procedural animation.
Spacing, thickness, dot spacing and softness define the graphic language of each state, while Number Of Line Sets and Overlap determine how multiple sets combine.
Render and Image controls matter for fine line work because undersampling quickly creates flicker or aliasing.
Think of Lines as two keyframed procedural line designs: First is the starting look, Last is the ending look, and Fusion generates the in-between line field.

Inspector
Start with these controls before reaching for more complicated workarounds.
Sets the frame range over which the node is active.
Sets the X/Y coordinates for First: Center 1.
Sets Angle 1 for the first state or pattern.
Sets Spacing 1 for the first state or pattern.
Sets Thickness 1 for the first state or pattern.
Sets Thickness Scaling 1 for the first state or pattern.
Sets Softness 1 for the first state or pattern.
Sets Softness Increase 1 for the first state or pattern.
Sets Dot Spacing 1 for the first state or pattern.
Sets Dot Length 1 for the first state or pattern.
Sets Length Scaling 1 for the first state or pattern.
Sets Dot Softness 1 for the first state or pattern.
Sets Dot Softness Increase 1 for the first state or pattern.
Provides separate controls for the red, green, blue and alpha channels.
Sets the X/Y coordinates for Last: Center 2.
Sets Angle 2 for the second/final state or pattern.
Sets Spacing 2 / Thickness 2 / Softness 2 / Dot Parameters for the second/final state or pattern.
Provides separate controls for the red, green, blue and alpha channels.
Sets Options to Number Of Line Sets.
Sets Options to Overlap — Maximum.
Sets Options to Overlap — Add.
Sets Options to Overlap — Multiply.
Sets Options to Overlap — Screen.
Sets Render to Super-Sampling.
Sets Image to Process Mode.
Sets Image to Width / Height / Auto Resolution.
Sets the pixel aspect ratio.
Selects how the source color space is specified.
Uses Curve Type for source gamma space.
Removes the selected gamma or transfer curve so the source is treated in a linearized form.
Controls premultiplied-alpha handling around the operation.
Pre-divide removes alpha multiplication before processing; post-multiply restores it afterward. This is useful when color work creates dark or bright fringes around translucent edges.
Practical setup
Build the First line state.
Build the Last line state.
Set how many line sets are needed.
Choose overlap behavior.
Raise supersampling if thin animated lines shimmer.
Examples
Interpolate line spacing and angle across the shot.
Use Lines as a matte for a title reveal.
